My Learning Cloud supports Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance with safeguarding e-Learning for volunteers.

Networking events often spark conversations that lead to something meaningful. For Jemma, our Business Development Lead, one of those conversations was with a member of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA), a service that provides lifesaving care to the region and relies almost entirely on charitable donations.

Learning more about their work left a lasting impression. Many of their staff are volunteers, who dedicate their time attending events, talks, presentations and much more all in aid of raising awareness of HIOWAA and the incredible work they do. We wanted to find a way to give back and offered to work alongside HIOWAA, helping them to create a safeguarding e-Learning course tailored to them.

Our Senior Digital Content Specialist, Amy Lucas, met with the team to understand what they needed from their training and worked closely with them to make sure the course was exactly right. Together, we’ve created Safeguarding for Volunteers, a bespoke e-Learning course designed to give HIOWAA volunteers an overview of how to keep themselves and others safe. And the best part? We’re proud to provide this course free of charge to support their vital work.

To celebrate the partnership, Amy, Jemma, and Rob (who was involved in the technical development of the course) were invited to tour their base and gain deeper insight into the challenges and dedication behind the service.
