Fall Impact Reduction Overview
A long lie is when someone stays on the floor for an hour or more after a fall. This can cause injury, hospitalisation, and long-term decline. Preventing long lies is critical for safe, high-quality care.
Saint Martins Care, in partnership with the North East Ambulance Service, developed an internal training programme to help staff respond quickly and safely when a resident falls. Having seen the difference this training made in their own care homes, preventing thousands of long lies, Saint Martins Care approached us to transform it into an e-learning course, making it accessible to health and social care staff across the country.
The course will give you a clear understanding of how to use Winncare's ISTUMBLE® falls assessment app and Mangar lifting cushions to support individuals who have fallen, reducing long lies and avoidable hospital admissions.
The ISTUMBLE® app and Mangar lifting cushions are owned and trademarked by Winncare. Hosting this course does not transfer any ownership of these products; all product rights and trademarks remain the property of Winncare. This course should be used alongside practical training on the use of a lifting cushion.
