Standard 11: Safeguarding Children Overview

This course will provide you with an understanding of what safeguarding is and the responsibilities you have in safeguarding children. It will also provide you with insight into the different types of abuse and their indicators, as well as the risks around technology and abuse.

You will be introduced to the legislation that underpins safeguarding children in the Health and Social Care Sector, The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and the role of safeguarding partnerships and professionals. Finally, you will learn how to respond to suspicions or disclosures of abuse, including how to accurately record and correctly report your concerns.

The Care Certificate e-Learning modules are designed to help you demonstrate knowledge and collect evidence required to complete the Care Certificate. These standards are the foundation of knowledge you need before you can work alone with the individuals you will be supporting. Some information included in this course has been sourced from Skills for Care.
