As a Skills for Care endorsed provider, My Learning Cloud are thrilled to announce that we’re delivering the Fully Funded Rapid Induction Training on behalf of Skills for Care for a third time. This Rapid Induction Training covers essential training for volunteers, newly recruited staff and refresher training for existing staff.
We have provided more information on the Rapid Induction and Essential Training programmes below:
RAPID INDUCTION PROGRAMME
New workers will need to complete all the following:
- Assisting and Moving People
- Basic Life Support
- Fire Safety
- Food Safety
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Medication Management
- Safeguarding (specifically around isolation)
The rapid induction also contains the main knowledge elements from the Care Certificate Standards
REFRESHER TRAINING
This training is for staff who urgently need to refresh training which has expired or will expire soon, to enable them to continue to work safely.
There are eight topic areas and employees can be put on one or several of these depending on their individual training requirements.
- Assisting and Moving People
- Basic Life Support
- Fire Safety
- Food Safety
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Medication Management
- Safeguarding (specifically around isolation)
Where staff are being redeployed, the employer will need to assess the learning needs of the employee in the new role. If the role is significantly different, they may gain more benefit from the above Rapid Induction Programme. Staff training needs can be discussed with the endorsed learning provider.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME
This includes:
- An introduction to Adult Social Care
- Role and Responsibilities
- Whistleblowing
- Equality, Diversity and Person-centred Values
- Telephone Support and Communication
- Pain and Discomfort
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Food Safety
- Fluids and Hydration
- Health and safety and stress
Why is this fully funded Rapid Induction course being offered?
This is a response from Skills for Care to add extra support to the sector with Rapid Induction Training for new staff and is limited to adult social care employers in England only.
The maximum number of volunteers and refresher training courses that can be funded for a single employer are:
- Small employers (1-50 staff) –80 courses
- Medium employers (51-249 staff) –160 courses
- Large employers (250+) –240 courses
The number of rapid induction programmes which can be delivered to an employer is currently unlimited.
