This course will provide you with an understanding of what epilepsy is and the different types of seizures you may encounter. It will also provide insight into specific risks associated with epilepsy (such as SUDEP and Status Epilepticus) and what can be done to minimise these risks. You will be introduced to the treatments available for individuals with epilepsy and examples of best practice when providing care and support.
Finally, you will learn about emergency epilepsy medication (specifically Buccal Midazolam and Rectal Diazepam) as well as how to administer these safely.
