This course will provide you with an understanding of what learning disabilities are and some examples of common comorbidities. It will also provide you with insight into the Social and Medical Models of Disability. You will be introduced to examples of best practice in supporting individuals with a learning disability, such as the role of advocacy and effective communication, and the importance of person-centred support and professional boundaries.
Finally, you will learn about the inequalities faced by individuals with a learning disability and how you can promote inclusion.
