Course overview

This course will provide you with an understanding of what adult support and protection is (including the 3-Point Criteria) and the responsibilities you have in safeguarding the individuals you support. It will also provide you with insight into the different types of harm and their indicators, as well as the risks around technology and abuse. You will be introduced to the legislation that underpins safeguarding in the Health and Social Care Sector, the importance of promoting human rights, and the role of policies and procedures.

Finally, you will learn how to respond to suspicions or disclosures of harm, including how to accurately record and correctly report your concerns.
